I have over 30 years experience in the seismic data acquisition,
processing, hardware and software support and system design.
I was one of the many technical staff released by BP in 1994, I formed
RODE Consultants Limited to complete the RODE schema as chairman of the
SEG Technical Standards sub-committee for High Density Media formats
and offer consultancy in the implementation and use of high density
media.
The company is now closed but I continue to offer consultancy and
software as an individual.
I developed a compliance checking package readrp66 for RP66 V2 / RODE files This software has been installed on 486 and Pentium PCs under LINUX, SUN SPARC systems using SOLARIS and IBM RS/6000s under AIX 4.
I have also a RODE reading package "readrode" based on the Readrp66 package that can extract either data or metadata from "RODE" format files and has the ability to overcome many common errors in data encoding.
I am still chairman of the SEG Technical standards subcomittee for High Density media formats and we prepared a draft revision of teh RODE standard and a local content standard - these have never been implemented as SEB standards but are available here for discussion. The local content standard can be used by anyone - please refer to it using the RODE Consultants Limited RP66 producer code - 418.
